The major task of insurance brokers

Undoubtedly, the insurance industry has carved its niche in the business sector. More and more insurance companies have surfaced over time. Also, with the relative increase in the world’s population, the insurance industry has achieved a greater opportunity to heighten its popularity. Insurance companies specialize in a lot of fields such as health insurance, auto insurance, motorcycle insurance, life insurance, real estate insurance, and many more. To further disseminate the service they render to the public, insurance companies hire insurance brokers to handle the job.

Who is an insurance broker?

Insurance brokers or insurance agents act in behalf of their potential customers or those who act in the place of a principal. They handle all matters in the negotiation. In a selling business, when the agent acts in behalf of the buyer, the insurance broker is called a buyer agent. On the other hand, if the insurance broker acts in behalf of a seller, then he is termed as a seller agent. Moreover, an insurance broker is the representative of the insurance firm who tackles the selling of insurance policies to a number of third parties who are interested with the deal.

No matter what role the insurance agent plays for, there still remains the fact that the insurance brokers are paid with an ample amount for his or her fee. An insurance broker may work full time as compensated with a fixed wage, a salary added with the rightful commission, or solely for a commission alone. Likewise, an insurance broker may work for

various insurance firms based on his field of expertise. It is in the onset of the Insurance Brokers Act 1977 which highlighted the regulation of the term insurance broker. Such scheme had been designed to put a stop to the spurious custom of insurance companies who more than enough term themselves as insurance brokers when in fact they do merely act as representatives of even a chain of preferred insurance firms.

The Real Score of a Broker

Insurance brokerage basically covers general insurance forms such as autos, house, land, and so on. It is not much related to the field of life insurance although there are some firms who continuously adhere to such technique. Moreover, insurance broking is handled by a myriad of corporations which include telephone companies, web-based industries, traditional brokerages, and the chain of Independent Financial Advisers or IFAs.

Why the need for an insurance policy?

Regardless of the type of insurance policy which you as a potential buyer want to avail of, you cannot deny the fact that such insurance policies are important. You never know what may happen in the near future and if you would like to secure yourself and your loved ones, getting an insurance policy is the best option.

Your life and your property can be insured. We all live in a world filled with uncertainty. There are numerous news outbreaks about the natural calamities such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and other deluges. Plus the fact that any moment problems may arise, make you lose your possessions and leave you broken in the end. Life is utterly precious so you’ve

got to be rest assured that you and your loved ones are always on the safe side.

Basic Responsibilities of an Insurance Broker

It is the primary job of an insurance broker to attract potential customers and convince them to have themselves or their properties insured. As an insurance broker, it is also his task to collect the rate of the premium as the insured party issues the payment.

Selling of various insurance policies whether it be for the home, for a vehicle, for medical or life needs and assisting the insured parties when it is time to claim their benefits during any disaster are among the basic responsibilities of an insurance broker.

Custom shirts

First appearances count and being well-dressed helps the first impression you make. The way you carry yourself and the clothes you wear are important to create the image you wish to portray. A custom made shirt means that it is tailored to your exact requirements. It adds that something special to your clothes and gives your self-confidence the boost that it requires.

Having a shirt tailored to your own special needs allows you to choose the design of your choice in the fabric you want. It could be domestic or imported fabric in fine cotton or silk, or may be oxford or twill. Plain, stripes, solids or prints, the preference is yours alone. The shirt could be a button-down, long, short, single, double-button closure with a monogram on the collar cuff and pocket for that distinctive touch. Each person prefers a different cuff style - be it classic, angled or for cufflinks. Pockets are a matter of choice too. Maybe you want a breast pocket, but maybe you don’t and prefer hand set pockets, the choice remains entirely yours. Maybe you want to stand out as unique and have contrast trim on your shirt or want stripes running down the side. No more extra long sleeves to be altered or sagging collars. The measurements for your neck, sleeves, body, tail, chest, coat, height, weight, waist, and inseam will all be taken individually to ensure that you get the right fit.

The best part is that you can look your best exactly how you want to and make the shirt in such a way that it complements the rest of your wardrobe. Custom shirts will give you the feeling of luxury and the satisfaction of having a shirt that has had the full attention of the tailor and is not another one just off the rack.

Opt in email marketing tips

Opt-in Email Marketing Tips

Opt-in email refers to those promotional e-mails sent to individuals who have requested to receive them. Not like spam, wherein promotional emails are sent to a large number of recipients without considering whether such individuals want the information, opt-in emails generally are sent only to individuals who particularly requested for them.

Opt-in e-mails often are personalized, targeted and convey information regarding specific promotions or topics that clients are interested and concerned to learn about.

Usually opt-in e-mails include product information, newsletters, helpful articles and advices or special advertising offers. When for instance a user frequents a certain website selling music and books online, he can "opt in" to accept publications or notices each time his favorite musician or author releases a new material; promotional e-mails may also grant the user with a discounted offer only available for individuals in the “opt-in” list.

Even though this direct targeted email marketing and promotion is more expensive compared to bulk unsolicited email, surveys do reveal that this is more effective.

Opt-in email has many forms. The “single opt-in” list is established by inviting or requesting users to sign up through a “web form”. The moment they send the form, they are enrolled to be a member of that list.

You can take it a little further by adding another step, which is requiring all recent members to confirm or verify their subscription through email; this list then is commonly referred to as a "double opt-in".

Confirmed or verified opt-in authenticates and supports that the email list truly is approved; this came to be the basis for qualifying the list as a recognized, “non-spam” method of communication in the business.

There are several businesses on the internet that can rent you a list of email addresses of individuals who opted to accept a commercial email. In most cases, they in actuality are not renting the list as you will not have any chance of seeing the concrete list. These companies charge a fee for every email address that they mail your message to.

As long as all who receives the email are not paid in order that they read the messages, as long as they are truly interested with the offers that they have signed up, this method of marketing may be profitable.

The problem here in most cases is that they charge between 10-20 centavos per email address as well as mailing it to a considerable amount of list so to obtain wonderful results; this can be relatively expensive. However when you can afford it, you will create excellent targeted traffic.

What about “opt-in series" email promotion?

Opt-in “series” email promotion or marketing works in such a way that you offer a charming and appealing free sample, gift, article or giveaway at your website, generally works successfully through a pop window and when visitors collects their freebie, then they are obliged to type in their email address and name. Now they are already subscribed to receive a series of your personalized and scheduled email reports and messages pre-written by you. The best series type is that which supplies free helpful and valuable information regarding a certain subject that can solve your customers’ problem.

A good quality “email series” will establish good relationships with prospect clients, which is something is more valuable and a point that is often overlooked by many online businesses. This approach can be personalized and fully automated as soon as you have done the structuring and setup work.

Here are guidelines so to be safe:

1. Never purchase someone else’s “opt-in lists”. The clients who opted or choose to receive email messages in that certain list wants receive email information from somebody else and not you.

2. Never purchase and use those types of programs called "millions of email addresses plus a bulk emailer program".

3. Never sell your email list to someone else as well. Clients want to receive mail from you because in the first place, they want the information that you are providing them.

4. Consider a “double-opt-in” email procedure when gathering your very own list of emails from your website.

5. Do not use false header on your messages. Meaning, do not attempt to conceal your identity.

6. Never advertise or promote your website on all mailing lists newsletter whereby it was not collected through “double-opt-in”.

7. Without delay, fulfill and meet any request of removal from the list. Create a link that is simple to follow on all emails that you send.

When working on a plan, begin by asking yourself and determining the amount of e-mail addresses that you desire to obtain each month. Then, figure out the location or where your target clients frequent as well as the cost in order to obtain visitors to your website so you can invite or request them to “opt-in” to your list.

Good luck.

It s all up to you

Well, folks, we've made it to the end of the year and what a ride it has been. 2005 was a great year for me personally and professionally. I saw my business grow almost as fast as my kids. Both gave me great joy and just enough trouble to keep me on my toes.

I heard from people this year who were making tremendous progress building their eBay and online businesses and I heard from others who were just getting started.

I heard from people who were thriving and I heard from others who were struggling.

I heard from some who were making thousands of dollars a month and others who were fighting to pay the bills.

Some people asked for my advice.

Some people asked for my money.

Some damned me because I am successful and they are not.

My message to them all was the same:

It's not up to ME. It's all up to YOU.

YOU Have To Keep Moving Forward

In business as in life, you must keep moving forward to be a success. You must have goals and you must have a plan. There is no such thing as an "idle success." Successful people are not satisfied to just stay in one place. They are not satisfied with what they have. They know that when you become satisfied with what you have, you will always have just that. Successful people are always looking toward the future and moving forward.

YOU Must Never Give Up

When life knocks you down it's easy to wallow in your own sorrow. Life becomes a pity party and you are the star. Finding a successful wallower is like trying to find Bigfoot: there is no such thing. When you fall off the horse, get back on. When life knocks you down, you have to get back up. In the words of my friend, comedian Ron White, "When life gives you lemons find someone life has given tequila and have a party." Never, ever give up.

YOU Can't Let Your Circumstances Dictate Your Outcome

At one time I was dead broke and working 3 jobs just to survive. I was living on coffee and cigarettes and sleeping 3 hours a night. It would have been very easy for me to let my circumstances get the best of me, but I refused to give up. I set goals for myself. I created a plan. I took action that would get me out of those circumstances, not keep me there.

Only YOU Can Truly Motivate YOU

The only person who can motivate YOU to take the action necessary to be a success is YOU. Too many people are looking to others for motivation when only self-motivation really works in the long term. When you were a kid your mother motivated you to get out of bed and go to school and make good grades and come home on time. Well, you're a grown up now and you have to be your own motivator. You have to make yourself take action. You must have the drive and determination to do things on your own. Without motivation and action, you will fail and it will be your own fault.

No One Can Do It For YOU

The only person who can make YOU a success is YOU. Others can provide you with advice and tools to help make your journey more fruitful, but in the end it is up to YOU to make YOU a success. It is up to YOU to start your business and learn to market your product. It is up to YOU to make sales and carry the money to the bank. If YOU won't do it for yourself, no one can do it for you.

YOU Make Your Own Luck

Finally, remember this: there is no such thing as luck. YOU make your own luck. Luck occurs when opportunity and action collide. So if you're waiting for Ed McMahon to show up on your doorstep and proclaim, "This is your lucky day!" you are going to have a long, miserable wait.

Ed can't make you a success.

I can't make you a success.

It is all up to YOU.

Now get off the couch and make 2006 a Great Year!

Home theater design

Home theater design may require professional help

Having to be able to bring home entertainment may be a luxury. This is because only very few households can afford home theater system. Of late, only the rich and the famous can afford such luxury. This notion is now a thing of the past. Home theater systems may now be available to greater number of households because of the knowledge of basic home theater design. The basic home theater design may only require three basic components and these three components may already be affordable for the working class.

However, before you may need to think of the basic home theater design for your home theater system, you may need to know the size of the room for the home theater set up. The size of the room to where the home theater will be set up will depend on how basic the home theater design needs to be.

Home theater experts recommends that if the room is quite small, all you need for your home theater design is a television set, three speakers and a DVD player. The home theater design may be dependent of the shpre of the room; however, the position of the speakers remains to be the left, the right and the center of the room. Basic home theater design may require a television set bigger than 27 inches. Too small screen for your home theater design may not be sufficient for a movie theater-like experience. This is because even for the home theater design, you may need to consider the sight and sound of a movie theater. It is the main consideration why people go to a movie theater, the big screen and the surround sound. With respect to the surround sound of a movie theater, the basic three speakers is only applicable for smaller rooms, if the room is bigger, the home theater design needs to be more than three, you may go up to six speakers and a complimenting subwoofer may be necessary for the surround effect. Going back to a small room, if you will only put three speakers, you may want to consider buying a high quality brand speaker; this will give you enough surround sound for a smaller room.

If you have a small budget, ensure that the store where you will buy your speakers will allow you to test the product in your room and if it will not give you a good surround sound, they should allow you to return or replace the unit. This is because some speakers sound good in the store but when you finally set them up in a small room, the effect is not very good. Find a neat deal where they can allow you to return or replace the speakers. However, if your budget is sufficient, you may consider hiring the services of a home theater designer. Your home theater designer will be able to design the home theater better and with complete accessories. He may require checking the power rating, and the need for amplifiers. He may also recommend using home theater projectors and he may recommend how the speakers need to be. You will get a good home theater design if you will be able to hire home theater designers. The need for home theater seating and television cabinet may also be necessary for the complete package of your home theater.

You may enjoy the entertainment without having to tide traffic jam and enjoy in your own home theater system.

Mesothelioma your basic information

:

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is becoming more and more common. The most common cause of this cancer is exposure to asbestos. When constantly exposed with insufficient protection, asbestos dust and fibres affect the mesothelial cells which make up the mesothelium. The mesothelium is the outer lining that protects some of the body’s most vital organs such as the heart and lungs. The mesothelial cells become abnormal after lengthy periods of constant exposure to asbestos causing an array of problems.

Due to the latency period and symptoms of this cancer, mesothelioma is very difficult to diagnose. Mesothelioma takes decades to mature and develop fully and this is why many elderly men who were exposed to asbestos thirty years before are just discovering they have the cancer. A lot of these men are currently lodging multi-million dollar lawsuits against the companies that exposed them to the dangers of asbestos without sufficient protection.

The organs that are affected most by mesothelioma are the lungs. The most common type of mesothelioma which is called pleural mesothelioma affects the lining of the lungs and can cause symptoms such as coughing, breathing and swallowing difficulties, shortness of breath and fever. Another area that can be affected by mesothelioma is the abdomen. This is less common and this is known as peritoneal mesothelioma. Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include nausea and vomiting, weight loss, fever, bowel obstruction, loss of appetite and general pain in the stomach area. The last and least common type of mesothelioma is known as pericardial mesothelioma and it affects the heart and the tissue surrounding it. Symptoms of this form of the cancer include palpitations, breathing difficulties and persistent coughing. Generally, the symptoms of mesothelioma are typical of many other diseases and this makes it very difficult to diagnose.

There are treatments for mesothelioma although these are usually unsuccessful. If the cancer is treated aggressively in its early stages then there is a good chance of a patient surviving. However, due to the difficulty to diagnose mesothelioma, the cancer is not normally found until it is too late. Treatments that are used for mesothelioma include surgery, radiation therapy, palliative therapy and chemotherapy. Research for additional treatment of mesothelioma is being done at various cancer centers all over the United States as well as by pharmaceutical companies. When will the reverse funnel system end

Infinite… timeless… the reverse funnel system is a system, like a corporation, it is not dependant on one person or one product. Currently the reverse funnel system is linked to GRN, Global Resorts Network, but since it is a system it can be applied to any product and any company.

If GRN disappears the reverse funnel system will still be thriving and ready to link to another source of income that may work better than GRN does now, although GRN was chosen for a specific reason and has been fulfilling the dreams of all those involved in the reverse funnel system the reverse funnel system is in no way dependant on GRN.

In fact all the reverse funnel system is…is an automated sales process that closes people into your business for you automatically. Ty Coughlin and the inner circle hired VERY expensive copy writers, and web conversion experts to design the system. And after a few months of running it the results have spoke for themselves. The Reverse Funnel System is producing 30-40% conversion rates. THAT is amazing.

So if GRN was ever not producing for the reverse funnel system as it should be than the system could simply be transferred to another company that could provide more for those of us who have become a part the reverse funnel system.

That is why the reverse funnel system is so amazing. It has everything to offer and very little to hurt you on. The biggest aspect of the reverse funnel system is that you must be delivering traffic into the system consistently… It has such high conversion rates this is not a problem but if the traffic is not sent to through the system then there will be no conversions and you will not see money.

So have no fear for the future of the reverse funnel system… it is here to stay and here to grow. Those who want to get involved early while the income potential can still reach six figures a month I expect you act fast. Because soon enough there will be many people driving traffic to their own individual funnels.

All the best and lets make some CASH!

College for oldies

College for Oldies

The kids are older. You are older. You have more time on your hands. You decide that it’s time to go back to school and finish your degree. Now what? There are several choices to consider. First, you’ll need to research the schools in your area to find what works for you and your time. There are courses you can take in the evenings, weekends, or even online. You can take the traditional route and attend day classes.

Evening and weekend classes are more informal and often smaller in class size. You’ll find older students, parents, and grandparents. Online courses can be worked on your own schedule but usually have a heavier homework load and harder tests. You have to have a lot of self-discipline and motivation. Day classes have more action. Most students take classes during the day and the classes are larger.

Next, you have to enroll. This involves admissions and orientation. You might want to meet with a counselor to discuss your class options. You’ll need to find out class requirements and schedules. If you know what your major will be, you can meet with a counselor in that department. They will tell you what you should take and answer most of your questions.

Registration can be confusing. You have to work out the classes you want with what is available and fits in your schedule. Once you get registered and know what your classes are, find your books and get ready to start school. If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to school, expect that things will have changed a lot. Enjoy the chance to learn new things and expand your mind. And try not to roll your eyes at the giggly girls in your classes.

Invoice factoring as a short term cash flow solution

Invoice factoring refers to the practice where smaller companies sell invoices in order to receive money today. IN this case they do not have to wait for a credit period of 30, 60, or 90 days. Thus by selling invoices smaller companies do not create debt. This practice of invoice factoring is basically used as a finance management tool.

This practice of invoice factoring is usually adopted to avoid any loans or giving any collateral against availing any loan. The fee for invoice factoring is paid in terms of discount. This discount can ranger anywhere between 2.5% to 7%. As a result of invoice factoring the smaller companies avoid exhibiting any loans on their balance sheets plus they also do not have to pay any interest for the money taken. This results in better profit figures.

Various agencies also help small companies in invoice factoring. These agencies set up the company with the right factor for a particular factoring situation. If someone has an invoice or any receivable to be factored then these agencies come out to help in the same.

These agencies help the manufacturers, distributors, importers, exporters, wholesalers, contractors, suppliers etc equivocally. They also help truckers in construction invoice factoring. These agencies help to locate best factor for a particular situation within the area or can also help to choose from nationwide factoring companies to avail the best rates. They usually customized solution as per the clients need. To avail the services of such companies firstly a form needs to be filled out stating the type of receivables and other details required for invoice factoring. Then these companies approach the probable paying parties that avail invoice factoring. Some of these agencies assume the risk in the deal for non-recourse factoring where the client is not required to pay back.

There are different types of companies with different types of rates for factoring. Any invoices or receivables to the amount of $100,000 can be factored immediately. The average rate payable for discount in such cases is 2-5%.

Some agencies specialize for a certain category of invoice factoring. For example, some agencies indulge only in invoice factoring for medical industry. Some agencies, which cater to small and medium businesses for invoice factoring, create invoices online and receive immediate funding. They usually give a 24 hours turnaround. Other types of agencies also give funds to small businesses for their day to day operations against collateral of their invoice or purchase order. These kinds of agencies also buy mortgage notes, structured settlement annuity or medical receivables.

What is yoga

What is Yoga

Yoga, which means discipline, was developed in the year 300 by an Indian Hindu named Patanjali. Its purpose is to stretch the muscles, strengthen the body and increase concentration. It can also help you relax, if you have trouble doing that.

No wonder this ancient discipline has become popular among modern entertainers and athletes. Depending on who practices it, yoga can be simply a set of exercises or a total way of life.

Some who practice yoga, called yogis, try to use the discipline to reach a high level of consciousness. They respect certain abstentions (things not to do), such as not lying, stealing, being greedy or harming other people. They also practice certain observances (things to do), such as being clean, content, self-controlled, studious and devoted.

Physical control is also important in yoga. Yogis train themselves to take full, deep breaths. They consider breathing a life force, counting a lifespan not in years but in the number of breaths taken.

Unlike exercises that work only on strength, yoga also helps the body become flexible. As a result, some yoga exercises (called asanas) look a little strange, and you may think you need to be a human pretzel to do them. Not so. You just have to relax.

In yoga, you ease into stretches, never forcing yourself. The saying no pain--no gain simply does not apply. You do only the best you can at the moment, and at some later moment you will do more.

All yoga poses demand balance. And since you can't balance if you're thinking about last night's TV show, yoga also demands concentration. Learn to concentrate in yoga, and you will be better able to concentrate in baseball, tennis or even school.

Yoga exercises copy nature. Many yoga poses can be traced to the shapes of creatures, such as the cobra, cat, dog, tortoise, crab and eagle.

In the cobra pose, for example, you ask yourself, What would it feel like to be a cobra. You lie on your stomach with your forehead to the floor. As you inhale, you slowly roll your head back, supporting yourself with your hands. You hold that pose, then come down slowly, trying to move as a snake would move.

All yoga exercises promote strength and calmness. Each move's effects on a muscle, a gland or a nerve center are carefully thought out.

You can choose certain exercises to rid yourself of particular pains, such as back pain from back-packing or leg pain from jogging. Yoga can help condition you for skiing or help you control feelings of depression or fear.

Any good book on yoga will describe various asanas and tell how each works. You may even have done yoga exercises already. Ever done a handstand, or the wheel. Many exercise programs borrow from yoga.

Scandal and the internet helps keep celebrities in the news

As 2006 comes to an end, it seems that the year is determined to be defined by celebrity scandal. When Tom Cruise jumped on Oprah Winfrey’s couch in late 2005 we had no idea that this seemingly goofy incident would not only affect the career and bank-ability of arguably Hollywood’s biggest star, but also create a whole new cottage industry of internet blogging around celebrity misfortunes.

With each miss-step, there are thousands of web sites and bloggers there to comment, post videos and rehash every element of the celebrity’s downfall. Of course, the bloggers aren’t totally to blame, as celebrities seem to have gone out of their way to make this year one that is notorious for famous people making famously offensive, obnoxious, or just plain stupid mistakes. When Mel Gibson was pulled over in Malibu California in July of this year for suspicion of drunk driving and broke into an anti-Semitic tirade, it was hard to imagine that he was just getting things started. Since that time Michael Richards, who played Cosmo Kramer on TV’s Seinfeld, was filmed screaming racial slurs at a Los Angeles comedy club and Danny DeVito has made an appearance on TV talk show The View seemingly intoxicated and doing a rambling impression of the President of the United States. And that’s not even counting the “Celebutants”, those young female celebrities that are more notable for their party-going and revolving door of boyfriends then for any artistic accomplishment. Over recent weeks the internet has been a flutter with photos of panty-less Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Even scarier for L. A. drivers (and society) is the recent arrest of Nicole Richie for driving under the influence of a mixture of drugs. What is seemingly more notable from Mr. Gibson and Ms. Richie’s arrests is the danger that they not only put themselves in, but other people. Say what you will about Tom Cruise, but the only person who could have been injured that day was Oprah.

Of course, for many celebrities, specifically the young Celebutants with little else creatively to rely on, getting in the news is part of (if not completely) the point. It is certainly no surprise that when Yahoo! recently released its list of top searches for 2006, 4 of the top 10 searches were young female celebrities in the news for their break-ups and miscues more than anything else. Britney Spears was number one, with Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan rounding out the top 10.

Lohan is the perfect example herself of a scandal queen. Currently news about her stint in AA and rumors of her cutting her own wrists punctuate sites like Babes Of Hollywood (www. babesofhollywood. com) which focuses on the latest happenings of Hollywood’s most popular females. And there is also the role of technology in all of this as well. With web sites easily being created by even the most novice surfer, camera phones at nearly everyone’s disposal and video becoming ever prevalent on the web, the amount of content and the ability to distribute it has never been stronger. One can only imagine the effect that video phone in the comedy club in Los Angeles had on Michael Richards and his life and career. Much like the tree that falls in the forest with no one to hear, you have to ask yourself – If Kramer makes racial slurs but nobody is there to record it, does that still make him a racist?

For people who are thinking of organizing or setting up a trade show exhibit, it is highly important that you know the things that are important for the success of the trade show event. With a small a mount of attention, you can easily come up with a successful trade show exhibit.

1. Setting

Let’s start with the place where the trade show exhibit will be held. The exhibit venue or the trade show space is highly reliant on the use of outstanding design for booths as well as other displays so that the organizers will be able to generate more traffic for the exhibit. For most trade show exhibit organizers, it is highly important that you are able to attract your desired customers in just under 10 seconds since the trade show exhibit viewers attention span can only last for so long.

2. Factors To Consider

- Location

- Theme

- Topic

3. Budget Concerns

The trade show exhibit organizers must always keep in mind that some venues for a trade show may seem just too perfect for words - and this comes at a high cost. Money definitely does not grow on trees and even big multinational companies who hire trade show organizers to create a trade show exhibit for their company simply cannot afford atrocious rates, whether it be for the trade show exhibit’s location, the design, or perks for visitors.

4. Displays

You can also opt to spend some extra money on the trade show exhibit displays. This is actually a good investment for you because the better your displays, the more people will be attracted to your show. When it comes to picking out a good trade show exhibit company, one should be able to effectively give a pre-show marketing for the trade show exhibit to increase traffic. According to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research, around 76% of the people who actually go would prefer to have some background information on what the theme of the trade show exhibit is and a selection of examples for the booths.

People are migrating to Costa Rica in record numbers, and if you’re thinking of retiring, buying a second home, or starting a business - living in Costa Rica is much easier than you may think - and the benefits are huge - and affordable for everyone.

There are many reasons people choose to live in Costa Rica - and they include stunning natural beauty, a slower paced lifestyle, low crime, great infrastructure - and you get a LOT for your money.

Let’s look at some of the reasons why more people are moving to Costa Rica than ever before:

Property

If you’re moving to Costa Rica, the first thing to consider is the cost of property - and the good news is that it’s cheaper in comparison to the US - with beachfront properties costing up to 75% less!

The cost of a three bedroom home starts at just $60,000.

Property taxes are minimal, and there’s no capital gains tax when selling your home - and overseas buyers have the same rights as residents, so you’re legally protected.

Hired help is also inexpensive – you can hire a full-time maid for as little as $150 to $200 a month.

Alternatively, you may just want to stroll through some of the most beautiful scenery on Earth - well, living in Costa Rica gives you all this and more.

Safety

Latin America is now very popular, but if you’re choosing a country in this area, then living in Costa Rica has advantages over its rivals.

Neighboring countries such as Nicaragua, Belize, Honduras and Guatemala are cheaper - but the quality of life and infrastructure are not as good.

Furthermore, safety is a major concern - as petty crime, violent crime, kidnappings, as well as drug wars, are a problem in these countries.

In conclusion, living in Costa Rica gives you a better and safer lifestyle - with something for everyone.

Living in Costa Rica is an adventure that can enhance your lifestyle. You’ll only be bored if you want to be - and Costa Rica suits people with ALL budgets.

If you’ve ever dreamed of living in paradise, then you should consider living in Costa Rica.

The laws of attraction and finances

The Laws of Attraction and Finances

What if you didn't have to live payday to payday? What if you had all the money you wanted instead of overwhelming debt? Maybe that sounds too good to be true. However, the Laws of Attraction can change your financial outlook forever.

One part of the Laws of Attraction is that you get things according to the energy you put out into the world. The universe will respond to it and send it back. For example, one person might go to the mailbox and say, "I hope I don't get too many bills today." Another person might say, "I wonder who's sending me money today."

Who do you think will have a better mail day, on the average? The Laws of Attraction say that the person who sends out the negative energy of worry and fear will get more to worry about and fear in return. The person who is positive will get things to be joyful about, according to the Laws of Attraction. In this case, he/she has a certain likelihood to actually get money in the mail.

Money itself may be one of the more difficult things to get through the Laws of Attraction. This is not because the Laws of Attraction don't work as well. It's just because it's hard to be passionate about money itself. It is easier to get excited about the things money buys.

The Laws of Attraction work hundreds of times better if you are very passionate about something. This translates into a high level of positive energy, or vibration, that you are emitting into the universe. It works to make things happen quickly. If you can get that excited about money itself, then the Laws of Attraction can bring you the money you desire.

More likely, the things you will be the most enthusiastic about will not be little green slips of paper. They will be vacations, houses, cars, maybe even airplanes. These things will excite you if you allow yourself to dream about them. Then the Laws of Attraction can help you to get them.

If you want to use the Laws of Attraction, one way to intensify your desires is to find some visual way to make them real. Take pictures of the things you want. Post them around your house where you will see them often. Because the Laws of Attraction will bring you more of the energy you send out, make sure the images in your home are conducive to a positive outlook.

Only when you are clear about exactly what you want can the Laws of Attraction work for you. Sometimes, you can't actually take a picture. Sometimes it is easier to go through magazines and find pictures and descriptions of what it is you want. Cut them out and hang them up. The more, the better. The Laws of Attraction in the universe will respond to your desires.

Then, too, you can seek out your dreams by going on homes tours and test driving cars. Whatever you can do to put yourself in contact with the reality of your dreams helps. It makes the Laws of Attraction work for you. People say that money doesn't buy happiness. It's true that money alone can't make you happy. However, if you use the Laws of Attraction to improve your financial situation, that can only be a good thing.

Strawberry jamming again

More practical musings – hints and tips on making strawberry jam.

Sunshine for the rest of the year

So I’m preparing strawberries for jam, the third evening this week. It is the most productive week of the year as far as our strawberries are concerned. The best are already sold, fresh in punnets and the seconds, some with scarcely a blemish, others hideously deformed but still flavoursome, are piled in heaps waiting to be hulled, halved, weighed and jammed.

Just taking part in this process, I feel a bond back through the centuries with all the women, who preserved, jammed, pickled, prolonging the goodness and abundance of the seasonal produce to last the whole year through. In the days before fridges, freezers, supermarkets, intercontinental fast transport, each household would have relied on itself to survive the winter without diseases caused by vitamin deficiency and lack of sunshine. Making jam wasn’t just a luxury sweet, it was a way of preserving the summer sunshine a little longer, of giving your children some vitamins to keep them strong, when the only things growing in the garden were cabbage or Brussels sprouts! I wonder if those children ate them without fuss? Your preserves would have been eked out to last until spring brought new fresh growth with it.

Our jam supplies usually just last through until the next strawberry season. I’m generous to start with, giving it away as presents to friends, selling it at the market for our school, then, strawberry season over, I count the jars and begin to get more parsimonious. After all bought jam is now unheard of in the family, I’m the only one who eats marmalade, which fills the winter jam gap, so the strawberry and apricot jam has got to last, come what may.

My strawberry jam recipe for success? ( and please note that this is just how I make it… I’m not an expert and don’t even have a jam thermometer, but I guess they didn’t in the old days either. These are just hints and tips gathered from making my own mistakes and from the advice of my sister-in-law.)

Extremely simple ingredients, but results vary wildly from the runny (running right off your toast runny) to the thick (spoon stands up in it) for no apparent reason – well the length of time cooking together with the amount of pectin are the reasons but you can’t always tell about the pectin in advance. Strawberries are very low in pectin, which is what makes jam set and the riper they are the less there is. If they are wet that also dilutes the pectin (let them dry on kitchen towel or a dishcloth before preparing). So something needs to be added. I usually add lemon juice, which doesn’t affect the flavour, you can also buy pectin in packets. The more lemon juice you use , the more likely it is to set firm – I like mine a bit runny, so tend to juggle the lemon juice a bit.

1 kg prepared strawberries

750g sugar

25ml-50ml lemon juice or more if it doesn’t set!

Use a large thick based pan. The strawberries should only come to about half way up or they will boil merrily over, coating your stove with sticky foam. Let the strawberries soak with the sugar overnight. This brings out the juice and keeps the fruit firmer so it doesn’t dissolve into a mush when cooked. Bring slowly to the boil, stirring occasionally to make sure the sugar dissolves before it boils. Then add the lemon juice. Boil at a moderate pace, without stirring, for at least half an hour before testing.

The main thing is to keep your jam under observation after the first half hour of boiling and sniff( to make sure it’s not burning on the bottom of the pan), test every 5 minutes with a drop on a cold plate. Let it cool for a couple of minutes. If it starts feeling syrupy and makes a string to your finger when you dip it, then that’s a good runny, syrupy jam. If a skin forms and wrinkles when you push your finger through the drop of jam then it’s a firmer set. If after an hour it still doesn’t get to either of those stages you might have to add more lemon juice and boil it up again for another twenty minutes or so then start testing all over again. You can tell if it is getting there as the bubbles start looking more syrupy, a slower rolling boil.

Have your jars ready. 1kg of fruit makes about three medium sized jars. I usually sterilise mine by pouring boiling water into clean, dry jars up to the top (they must be dry though, if there are drops of cold water in they can crack). Then when the jam is ready, pour out the hot water and ladle in the jam, right to the top, put on a circle of either waxed or baking paper and then the lid. Tighten the lid now while it’s hot for a good seal. The spills of jam are easier to wipe off while it’s still hot too, hold with a cloth though, hot is really HOT!

If all this is sounding a bit laborious, you can always try waiting for the apricot season. Apricots are far less temperamental, have plenty of pectin and set more easily…. But hey.. strawberries are worth the effort and it’s mainly patience you need, not technique. There is a huge satisfaction from seeing the jars lined up on the shelf, to see you through the winter. Good luck!

Photography lighting techniques

Lighting "maketh a photograph" - a very true and true to life statement, just as "clothes maketh a man"! Consequently if you are a photographer the importance of correct photography lighting techniques need not be overemphasized.

Light effects create prize winning photographs that the great connoisseurs of art crave for. The most relevant topic in photography is type of lighting and how to use it for the best possible result in your photographs. To make the subject easier we shall discuss four basic types of lighting and their conventional usage and constraints.

1. Back Lighting - One of the most popular forms of artistic photography is done through back lighting the objects. It can also be a constraint in case of normal photography when one wishes to capture lighting effects along with the subjects of the photographs like humans or other objects. Perfect photography lighting techniques are to be used in case you wish to capture the breathtaking effect of sunrise and sunset say on a beach with human subjects taking in that natural view! Of course, if one wants to take a silhouette and create a lasting effect it is necessary to compose the picture without any form of filters or flash photography. In contrast if one desires the entire composition to be evenly lit it is advisable to use fill flash equipment.

2. Side Lighting - One of the most common and popular artistic photography methods of illuminating the subject, object, and the background to give really stunning effects! Many systems are possible and these photography lighting techniques can offer a true art form when properly implemented. Half lit and half dark (kind of eclipse effect!) photographs give uncanny but thrilling effects to your hobby. Allowing light to fall from the side and casting a shadow on the opposite side can enhance features if a close up is contemplated. Special portraits are taken with side lighting to emphasize the right or left features of a human form and give depth to an object like flower vases, round objects etc. Photography lighting techniques using the side illumination effect are used for depicting texture and somehow also gives a three dimensional effect.

3. Artificial Lighting - Most indoor photography is carried out with artificial lighting and in this art form - the sky is the limit! Your passport or marriage proposal photograph is normally taken in artificial light. However, for artistic photography, artificial light needs to be well arranged to avoid undesirable effects such as red eye, yellow tinge, and a harsh environment.

4. Diffused Lights - Most important and most natural photography lighting techniques are with the use of diffused light systems. For many photo compositions it is necessary to avoid direct light from falling on the subjects or objects. In case of outdoor photography one must choose the right time of day to take a snap. Sunrise, sunset and mid day sunlight can be too harsh for a proper picture to be snapped. The use of suitable filters is advised to avoid hot spots and create a mush smoother lighting effect.

Though there are many other photography lighting techniques available in the market, the above four basic systems give a fair idea on the effect of illumination in the photographic profession.

One day miracle diet

One Day Miracle Diet – as dieticians put it – is a suitable diet program for gourmet buffs. This cholesterol lowering diet plan is quite simple – you diet for a day and eat full the next day and continue this routine until you feel that you have lost enough weight. It is also called the 24 hour Hollywood Miracle Diet.

During the dieting day, refrain from eating any other food than vanilla (every two hours) or chocolate diet wafers and raw fruits. Also, make it a point to drink lots of water (ideally 8 glasses of water or above). It is also advisable to follow a light exercise routine for better results. Walking short distances will serve the purpose.

The biggest advantage with one day cholesterol lowering diet programs is that the person undergoing dieting will not suffer any muscle loss. This is partially because of the high protein and low calorie content of the wafers, and partially due to the fact that the dieting person actually in fact is not completely severed from his/her eating habits. He/she can have any food he/she wants the every next day.

On the other hand, the disadvantage with the cholesterol lowering diet program is that it does not contribute towards improving one’s eating habits. That is, as it does not suggest an improved diet, the chances of the person regaining the weight due to normal eating after stopping the diet program are high. Also, nutritional deficiency can happen sometimes depending on the physical aspects of the person concerned.

To conclude, cholesterol lowering diet programs of this sort can bring about quick results. Further, as the person is not restricted from his normal diet for more than 24 hours, people will be more inclined to try out this diet program. But the con is that perhaps people may resort to eating more after the one-day deprival. Hence one’s control over his/her eating impulse is critical for ensuring complete success.

Tail Piece – some dieticians tout this cholesterol lowering diet program to be more effective than the traditional tuna and egg diet.

Helpful tips for outsourcing article writing

Helpful Tips for Outsourcing Article Writing

Are you interested in outsourcing your article writing? Regardless of what you intend to do with those outsourced articles, you need to take a few steps. These steps, a few of which are outlined below, will help to ensure you see success with outsourcing.

Know How to Find Writers

Did you know there are thousands of men and women online who want to make money writing articles? There are, but they aren’t always easy to find. Article writers tend to hangout in online forums that are devoted to the trade. Can you post your projects on those forums? If so, do it. You can also use online bidding websites to your advantage. They are an easy way to gain access to hundreds of quality writers.

A standard internet search can also be performed with the phrase “freelance writer.” Many writers have websites that outline their rates and provide links to samples. This approach is nice as you get to handpick your writer, without having to sift through hundreds of applications and resumes.

Choose Affordable Writers

If you are outsourcing your articles, you will want to make a profit from them. It doesn’t matter how you intend to use them, you must profit from them. Never pay a writer that you cannot afford. Remember the main goal of using articles to generate traffic to a website or reselling them is to make money. The less you pay a writer, the bigger profits you will retain.

Understand Importance of Quality

Yes, affordability is important when looking to outsource, but quality is just as important. If you are paying for exclusive rights, you should be able to take all articles and use them right away. It is a waste of money, no matter how little you pay, if you have to rewrite or fix multiple spelling errors.

Ask for Samples

In keeping with quality, ask all writers for samples of their published work. Never hire a writer just based on their word. Always request samples before awarding a writer your project. They can help ensure you are spending your money wisely. They also reduce disappointment.

Give Detailed Directions

Providing your hired writer with detailed direction is a must. Without clear directions, you may experience disappointment. An experienced writer will ask questions, but not all will. That is why should provide as much information about your wants, needs, and expectations beforehand.

How many articles do you need written? What is the expected word count? Do you want keyword article, content articles, or a combination of the two? Do you want your article to have a casual tone or a statistical tone?

Set Rules

In addition to outlining what you expect in terms of the articles, also state your expectations concerning the project as a whole. Do you want exclusive rights to the articles? If so, make this know. Let your writer know they cannot reuse the articles again, even just for personal use. They need to know that you walk away as the sole owner of them.

Check for Uniqueness

By following the above mentioned steps, you should be paired with a quality writer who produces unique content, but there are no guarantees. Do not fall victim to someone who scams you with plagiarized articles. Use a program, like CopyScape, that checks for plagiarized articles. Refuse to pay anyone who just copies someone else’s work.

Zombie computers roam the internet

Spyware and viruses are so common that you would be hard pressed to find anyone that isn’t aware of them. Under the umbrella term Malware, these little programs have been causing trouble for computer users for many years, and they seem to get more powerful everyday. A new incarnation of malware is becoming very common as of late, and it involves using a virus or trojan horse to place a computer under the remote control of a hacker. The controlled computer is referred to as a zombie and it is used to commit various dastardly deeds without the knowledge of the computer owner.

Zombie computers are almost always attached to the Internet via a broadband connection such as DSL or Satellite Internet. This is important as spammers have found that by using zombie computers to send out their junk mail they can easily avoid detection. As of 2005 it was estimated that up to 80% of all spam was sent via zombie computers, and that number is on the rise.

The increase can be attributed to smarter hackers and better technology, but the real driving causes behind the increased zombie trend are better spam filters and anti-spam laws. According to Tom Spring at PC World Magazine, “spammers are hiring virus writers and hackers to help them create armies of zombie PCs to send spam.” This union of hackers and spammers has been beneficial to both parties in opening new revenue steams that are extremely difficult to shut down.

Gregg Mastoras, a senior security analyst at the security firm Sophos says, “A new underground economy is evolving." This new economy is for the most part illegal and to date impossible to stop completely.

As of late the Chinese hackers have thrown their hat into the game and have taken the zombie computer business to the next level. Senior Pentagon Advisor Paul Strassmann recently said, “As of September 14th 2007 there were exactly 735,598 computers in the United States infested with Chinese zombies”.

Large groups of zombie computers can be used to form a “botnet” or network of slave computers. This network can be used to send out millions of spam mails in a short period of time. Slave networks are also used to commit a DoS attack. DoS attacks, or Denial of Service, target a particular website and overwhelm the server with information requests until the server can no longer handle the load. These attacks or in no way secretive, and once discovered are easily shut down. There will be a period of time however when site traffic will be disrupted by the DoS attack. Larger more sophisticated networks such as those used by governments or large firms have defensive measures in place to prevent damage from a DoS attack.

Making your own music songwriting basics

Whether you are a teenager or are well into your golden years, it is never too late to explore your creative side, especially if you are interested in music. Songwriting is an excellent way to express your thoughts and feelings and to communicate them to your friends and family, even if you have no aspirations of musical fame or fortune. If you are interested in selling or performing your songs, however, you should be aware that it is a hard road and that very few songwriters achieve great fame or fortune, and especially not instantly. Nonetheless, if you have realistic expectations, you will find that writing music is a worthwhile experience whether it is a hobby or a profession.

People write songs in many different ways. Some writers compose the music first, while others first write the words. For some, the words and the melody come to them at the same time, while others write the melodies first and write the words last. No matter what order you are comfortable with, you will eventually have to decide what the song is about. There are a variety of different types of songs ranging from songs that tell fictional stories to songs that communicate deep personal feelings.

If you decide to write a story song, a good first exercise is to write about a news story or about something you’ve read in the newspaper. That way you can use your first song to hone your word choosing skills without the pressure of coming up with your own story. However, if you already have an idea for a story to tell, you can write it out in poem form and try to make appropriate rhymes and structures that help communicate what happens in the song.

Because music is so expressive, many songwriters use their compositions to express how they feel, whether it be about a person or a situation or even geographic location. Writing these types of songs can be highly personal, so every person does it differently. When you have a strong feeling about something, write it down in a notebook and come back to it later. You might think of a good line that expresses an emotion really well, and if you remember it you might be able to build an entire song around it. Having quiet time to think is always helpful when you are trying to write a song.

Writing the actual music for a song can be done in many different ways depending on your musical prowess and your focus. If you write mostly to communicate words, then a few well-chosen guitar chords might be all of the accompaniment you need. However, if you a instrumental virtuoso, your approach to writing music will be quite different. Many people think of a musical idea and play it over and over again until they think of a melody. Often times, songwriters will construct whole pieces, melody and all, without even knowing what the song is going to be about. Once the melody is complete, the writer will sit down and think about lyrics that fit the feeling behind the music and will go from there.

Once you have put together your words and music, you might feel the need to perform your new song. It is always a good idea to play for friends and family first before trying to play to a crowd. When you feel comfortable enough playing your song, you should consider visiting an open mic night at a local coffeehouse or bar. At open mic nights, songwriters can play one or more of their songs to an appreciative and attentive audience. Performers can discuss their craft with other writers, making it a fun way to learn more about the writing process.

I hate writing articles isnt there an easier way

I Hate Writing Articles - Isn't There An Easier Way?!

Owning, running and maintaining an internet based business or a site needs articles. Plain and simple, every who has a site knows this. Even those who don’t have sites but are frequent internet users knows this as well. Articles quench the thirst for information and knowledge of the people. Plus, the articles provides many other benefits for the site.

The benefits that articles provide are putting a site high in the ranking in search results of keywords and keyword phrases that pertains or are relevant to his or her site. They also provide attraction to website visitors when they are appreciated and is linked to your site from another site or newsletter. Articles provide for the increase of the confidence and trust levels of customers to your site and company.

Many articles are also beneficial to both company and its traffic. When the readers like the articles, they would tell more of their friends, family and peers and recommend your site to them, providing for a larger volume of traffic. You get bigger sales if your traffic trusts and believes in you. Your product or services would be much easier to sell when they know you know what you are doing and talking about.

So ok, we have established that articles are very important to a site and to business. Articles are crucial and to keep ahead in the game, a site must have an article, it is imperative. There is one dilemma though, not many people like writing articles.

Many website owners would rather spend their time on something else, and unless you’re a big time company, you don’t have the necessary resources to use on a pool of article writers. Plagiarism or copying of other articles is frowned upon and could easily get you into trouble, worst case scenario; a hefty fine and jail time.

So what are the other options?

Well, for starters if you hate writing articles and you can’t afford to hire people to write for you then don’t. Get free articles. The first place to look at for free articles is the public domain. Here you won’t have problems with copyright infringement and the following penalties and fines if you get caught for plagiarism.

Public domain articles are articles freely given to the public for public use. You can do whatever you want with it. You can place it on your site, name it as yours, put it in a newsletter its you decision. Always remember though that you will have to choose articles that is very relevant to your site.

The downside to public domain articles is that since it is free for everybody, many of your competitors may have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique even though you have the same niche, this could be a predicament. You may also have to edit them a bit to place more keywords and keyword phrases to make them better.

Another way to get free articles is to allow other sites which has the same subject or topic as yours to submit articles to your site. This would be only to augment your existing content or else all your articles would be leading to other sites since these articles would have resource boxes with them that could link or direct the readers to their site. That’s why it is important to have your own articles; you cold use them to link your site to other sites as well.

But, to truly feel the impact of what a good article to you, go for original ones. There are many article writers who do part time and freelance article writing jobs that charges only minimal fees. You can get good articles that have all the keywords and keyword phrases you need and people are looking for.

The investment you made for these articles would be worthwhile because you could use them for all the benefits you could offer. You hold copyrights to them and you will be able to use them anyway you want. As your articles help you in building your business and your site, you will have more articles to write and maybe then you wont be having second thoughts about articles.

How i selected the best notebook computer for intensive number crunching and stock market analysis

Having used a desktop computers and notebook computers that had been officially supplied by the company where I was employed, there was no need to worry about what type of notebook computer or whatever configuration that was required in my work.

So when I finally had to purchase my own notebook computer for personal private use, I found myself facing a myraid of questions. Just what should I look out for when buying my own notebook computer?

First, I found I had to quantify my own needs for a notebook computer. Having quantified my needs, which was to do a lot of number crunching and to perform technical analysis and charting of stock prices online, I found that even low priced models could perform work that was demanded by my needs.

I was pleasantly surprised that my needs did not demand a high priced model.

Secondly, the notebook computer I required would need to be sufficiently light. In the process of identifying the notebook computer, I decided I did not need a subnotebook, as most notebook computers weigh between 5 to 7 kg, with a subnotebook weighing at 5 kg or less.

The standard notebook computer was sufficient for my needs coming with some wordprocessing software that was already installed as part of the package that comes with the computer and with Internet access capabilities. All I need was to install my specialized technical analysis program to monitor the stock prices.

At the same time, advances in notebook computer technology ensured that I had wireless technology and can hook up online at any hotspot outlet. This would allow me to have mobile wireless access anywhere I go. I could also use a pen drivefor additional mobile storage.

Finally, I also decided that I really do not need to use the provided upgrade functionality for the notebook, perferring to use the notebook for a period of two years at most. This was because I discovered parts and accessories were expensive, and going the way of upgrades to be expensive. Changing to a new model completely after two years appear to be a better proposition in terms of more power, functionality and cost savings.

Having made these decisions, the next step was to go online for a price comparison. Shopping online allowed me the convenience of researching each one of the notebook computer that caught my attention, without feeling pressured to make a quick decision.

There were some sites that allowed the added convenience of comparing different models side by side, and doing so was very useful in helping me to make my final decision on the notebook computer.

If you are faced with the task of purchasing your own notebook computer, the considerations which I have mentioned above will help you in your initial selection in making a wise decision.

Ten top tips for choosing personal loans

Choosing the right personal loan for your needs can be tricky, and if don’t know what you are getting yourself into then you could end up in financial difficulties. Here are some top tips to use when choosing a personal loan:

Secured vs. unsecured

A secured loan is a loan that is secured against collateral, such as your home. Secured loans have better rates than unsecured loans, but they are more risky because you could lose your home if the repayments are not met. If you are borrowing a small amount of money and have good credit, then go for unsecured loans.

Borrow as little as you can over a short period

The more money you borrow over a longer period of time, the more interest you are going to pay. Borrow as little as you can afford to, and pay it back as quickly as you can so that you minimise the interest payments.

Fixed vs. variable

Most personal loans have fixed interest rates. This means that the monthly repayments will remain the same throughout the loan period. However, some lenders offer variable or flexible loans. These loans are good if the rate goes down, but remember budget for the rate going up as well.

APR

APR or Annual Percentage Rates determine the amount of interest you pay yearly on the loan. Although a low APR might seem appealing, be careful because this is not the only charge that you are liable for when paying back your loan.

Typical APR

If you are comparing APR, then it is good to understand the concept of ‘typical’ APR. Although you may qualify for this rate, it pays to remember that unless your credit history is good, you will end up paying a higher APR than the typical advertised rate.

TAR

A better way to look at how much a loan will cost is the TAR or Total Amount Repayable. This will show you exactly how much you will repay to the lender. The lower the TAR then the better the overall package is.

Shop around

The most important thing to do before getting a loan is to shop around. Before you sign anything, make sure that you have looked at all possibilities for your needs. If you can separate all the various features of a loan and concentrate on the features you require, you can find the best rates for your needs.

Look online

Although your bank may have a good deal, most of the best loan deals are to be found online because of the low overhead costs associated with online companies. You can find many web sites that will allow you to compare the best personal loan prices, helping you to get the best deal for your needs.

Beware of PPI

When securing a loan, it is likely that you will be offered PPI or Payment Protection Insurance. This insurance covers your payments in case of illness, accident or unemployment. Although this insurance may help you, very few people are eligible to claim under its terms, and it is very expensive. Look to see if your current employer covers some of these items, or find a cheaper stand-alone policy that will cover you.

Early settlement

Nearly three quarters of all loans are paid off early, so it pays to know the charges for doing so. Although charges can still be high, more and more lenders are scrapping the charges altogether. Finding a lender that does not charge for early repayment might save you a lot of money.

Creating a budget

Many people do not consider the importance of a budget. They indulge in spending according to their earning and do not leave room for emergencies. This usually ends up in the incurring of debts and sometimes, personal bankruptcy. A budget helps to counter these consequences.

The essential calculations in a budget are income and expenditure. The purpose of a budget is to ensure that the expenses do not exceed the income and also provide for savings for the future.

A budget needs to be documented in the form of a chart or table. This needs to be easily comprehensible and provide a quick summing up of the relevant details. The chart needs to effectively reflect the different heads of expenditure. Suggested heads are housing and utilities, entertainment, health and beauty, transportation, communication and household. These can be further subdivided as follows:

Housing and utilities

- Mortgage payment or rent

- Insurance

- Taxes and electricity

- Natural gas

- Water and garbage pick up

Entertainment

- Cable television or satellite service

- Internet access

- Dining out

- Bars clubs

- Sporting events, parties, lessons and recitals

Health and Beauty

- Hair-cuts, perms etc.

- Make-up

- Medical, dental, vision, weight loss, diet products

- Nutritional supplements

Transportation

- Car payments, insurance

- Gas

- Routine maintenance, repairs

- Air travel

- Rental cars, public transportation

Communication

- Telephone

- Cellular phone

- Voice mail

Household

– Groceries

- Cleaning supplies

- Laundry, dry cleaning

- Home improvement

Projects, towels, linens

Others

- Credit card payments

- Other loan payments

- Child care, items for baby/elderly

- Allowances for children, book clubs, magazines, music, etc., fast food

- Investments, vacation, spending money, donations to church or charity

- Gifts (Christmas, birthdays, anniversary, etc.)

- Emergency fund

- Cigarettes.

If you have any other expenses that are not covered, you could add them to the list.

Next, try to reflect all expenses on a monthly calculation. For example, if you pay yearly taxes, calculate the monthly expense by dividing the yearly amount by twelve. Having done this, add up all the figures to arrive at the total monthly expense figure. Then subtract this amount from your take home salary amount. If you find the remainder in negative, you need to look for expenses where you ought to cut down. For example, if your take home salary is $1000 and your expenses total to $1150, you would need to trim down $150 each month, from the expenses.

If you need to cut down on your expenses, you would be the best judge to decide where to make the changes. However, it would be prudent to cut back on the extra subscription channels of the television. If you are smoker, cut down on smoking instead. Take home cooked lunch to office instead of eating fast food. Economize on power consumption by avoiding unnecessary use of the air conditioner and heating and make less use of the phone.

Creating a budget is absolutely necessary to manage your finances and is not dependent on the size of your income. It helps to prevent overspending and personal bankruptcy, allowing you keep track of your income and expenditure.

Continuously moving your marketing forward

Marketing is an ongoing journey for your business.

That might seem like an obvious statement, but the actions of many small business owners might indicate otherwise. For many you build a web site, or create a brochure, or go to a few networking events and then you wait for results to happen. Effective marketing rarely works like that.

It takes regular and consistent effort to keep your pipeline full of good high-quality leads that you can work on converting into paying clients. It doesn't have to be an all-consuming effort, but it does take consistent effort.

Here are four ideas for continuously moving your marketing forward:

Study up on marketing. There is no shortage of resources out there including books, audio programs, tele-classes, courses, etc. Look for the ones that offer proven, hands-on strategies and tactics, not get-rich-quick schemes.

Form or join a "think tank" or "mastermind group." Find a group of people who will care just as much about your success as you do (and that you'll care about their success). This isn't just a group of friends who will tell you what you want to hear, but a group that will hold you accountable and support you.

Attend talks and workshops regularly. If you go an participate fully, you'll often get just a much from the other participants as you will from the talk itself. Brainstorm with those you meet and find out what's working for them in their business.

Get hands-on assistance. Working with a marketing coach or consultant who can help you focus, set goals, prioritize, create action plans, and help hold you accountable could be one of the best investments you make in your business.

Support from outside resources like these can help you shift your mindset and make marketing the ongoing journey it needs to be.

Benefits of stretching

The body is flexible. It is supposed to be flexible. You must be able to bend and reach that something you dropped on the floor. You must be able to zip the back of your favorite dress on your own. You must be able to reach that book you need to read at the top shelf.

These are simple activities. Nothing grand about them, you merely stretched out a bit. However, if there are difficulties in doing such simple motions, then you have to stretch your limits. You already need a stretching program.

What Is Stretching?

Stretching is simply the act of extending to full length the body or simply a part of it. This activity involves straightening or stretching the structure or the limbs.

How Does One Do the Stretching?

Stretching is fairly easy. As mentioned in the introduction, it is involved in the normal activities. It can be done by any people, regardless of age.

However the extent of stretching and flexing differs. The muscles tighten as a person ages. The range of joint movements can be minimized. This can very well obstruct an on-the-go lifestyle. That is why as the person grows older, bending or flexing becomes more limited. This is why stretching regularly, as part of a routine is very important.

Simple stretches can be done everyday. It can be incorporated in the lifestyle and the daily activities. It does not require much of your time.

Stretching exercises can also be done while training. Actually, stretching is an essential part of any training or sport. It must be done first before anything else. Stretching the body and the limbs is a good preparation for a more rigorous activity.

Most athletes would do the sit and reach, wherein they position on the floor, extend their legs and reach the tip of their foot with the tip of their hand. Actually, most trainers actually require their athletes to really do the stretching before playing.

There is actually an ideal length of time in stretching. It is best to do it in 10 minutes. This will give the body enough opportunity to move and flex the muscles, thus preparing it for more complicated and strenuous movements.

Experts however would frown upon going way beyond 10 minutes. Stretching the exercise to 30 minutes or more will already wear out the body. This will not be favorable if one is preparing for a game.

What Are the Benefits of Stretching?

1. Increase the Range of Movement

As one constantly do the stretching exercises, the length of the muscles and the tendons are also increased. This will help in increasing the range of your movement. Thus, the limbs and joints will be able to move, way before an injury can take place. You are definitely physically fit.

2. Increased Ability to Perform Skills

When you have a wide range of movement, the more you will be able to do more things. For example, you can jump high without feeling any pain when you land back on the floor. This will also help you start a new sport or improve more if you are in one. Stretching in this aspect also allows you to have a more active lifestyle.

3. Injury Prevention

One can prevent injury to joints, tendons and muscles with stretching. When the muscles and tendons are well-flexed, they are considered in good working order. This will help in a faster recovery and decreased soreness. The muscles of the body will be able to take more exhausting and rigorous movements with less probability of being injured.

4. Reduce Muscle Tension

If the muscles are given their regular exercises and stretching, it is less likely that they will contract. This will definitely relieve you of any muscle pain or problems.

5. Enhance Energy

Being able to move more will also give you more energy. Stretching will also help enhance your awareness, like knowing that you have a body that is capable of doing many things. As such, you are going to be more driven to move rather than sulk in the corner.

6. Reduces Cholesterol

Research also shows that doing prolonged stretching exercises, like yoga, will help reduce the cholesterol in the body. This of course must be done with a healthy diet at hand. This could prevent and even reverse the hardening of the arteries, allowing you to avoid coronary diseases.

Incorporate stretching in your everyday lifestyle. It has benefits you can not say no to. It also does not require much. It can be your usual activities, bending and flexing every now and then. After all, your fitness is everything so do what it takes to keep the body healthy.

Why you need to have insurance for boats

Why you need to have insurance for boats

The actual number of piracy attacks that were reported worldwide in 1999 rose nearly 40% in just one year. What’s more those figures nearly tripled between 1991 and 1998, according to the ICC International Maritime Bureau in London (IMB).

In the year 2000 a report conducted by the International Marine Bureau in London, also showed that annual losses due to piracy totaled over $200 million dollars. Even more alarming is the increase in weapon usage by modern day pirates such as guns and knives. Internationally a significant number of deaths, as well as serious injuries, are attributed to piracy each year.

Modern pirates may not have wooden legs and eye patches. They also may not be waving the Jolly Roger from a top their sails. Instead these criminals often navigate vessels that do not appear out of the ordinary. They will generally board a cargo vessel before the captain realizes that they are thieves. Modern pirates may do one of three things: rob the crew/passengers aboard the vessel; rob the vessel of its goods and cargo; or hijack the entire vessel.

Travelers venturing into foreign waters run greater risks of experiencing hijacking, theft, and even assault from modern day “pirates.” Having the best insurance coverage for you and your vessel is a must. The policy should cover all goods, cash, cargo, and of course the vessel itself. Maintaining the highest level of insurance, will help ensure that, should you fall victim to such a crime, the majority of expenses and costs you experience can be recouped.
